I decided I was not suitable for private industry, so I am back
with the Government (gov), working again for the U.S. Bureau of
Reclamation (USBR), in their Denver Office (do). This is where I worked
from 1987 to 1994 when I was downsized out. Was just re-employed with
them in April.

Below is what what I met to send you earlier:
Great,
thanks for the forward. I'll check out the yahoo group, and I'm
sending my money tomorrow - now that I have an address. Are you going
to make it? I've been pretty fortunate in finding really good airfares
this summer for my various travels. Have you heard back from David?
He hasn't answered my email from yesterday, yet.
Good
to hear from you. Hope you're coming down!
Monica
Yea. I wasn't very good at notifying people of my new address
(JBPat@attglobal.net) (It wasn't my
doing. IBM.net sold to attglobal, so the name changed. They did
warn me a year ahead of time so I could notify people, but...) Anyway
- my e-mail from the reunion organiser was infected also. However, I
received a forward of the message from Barry Laves (who has taken the lead
to be some kind of BTW/HSEP liason). I will forward it to you right
after this-here message. He has set up a Yahoo group (2 years ago) for
the purpose of getting a "group communication going".
Somehow, I was made a part of the Yahoo group this May. (Didn't relize
it though, and signed up again. So, I'm on there twice. You and
Carry ought to join. This would be a good forum. Check out the
fwd from Barry and get back with me.
Later,
Jay

I have been trying to
contact you by email forever!!. What is going on? Your addresses
changed. Have you sent in your money? Carry is going and was
thinking about getting everyone together at her house for a barbecue, if we
can squeeze in the time. My new personal email address is kuchynata@yahoo.com
- ditch the aol one. Carry is clselvera@hotmail.com
.
Were you able to open the
attachment on the reunion email? Mine was infected with a virus, so I
don't even know where to send the money.
Let's get a group
communication going on this if we have enough positive responses. Hope
you can make it.
Monica

Hey - with respect to wanting to see other people, I ran into Berry (Laves) on-line. Told him about us planning a mini-reunion. He was very interested in joining in. Is now the time to open this up to anybody- and-everybody. I would like to see Berry and everyone else. Monica - re Twin Knights: It Is nice. Looks kinda new. Honestly though, I would really like to be close to some wave-and-beach action. For the Twin Knights, we'ld need a boat (Gotta boat?). It does accomodate alot of people, and the price is low. I still want beach-front. Jay PS: Now its official: This is gonna be singles weekend. I think its great that no one will have their spouses there....thats perfect for a reunion like this!! - just like old times. I'll go with whatever. I'll ask all of you the same question I asked Jay yesterday. Should we post to the hsep-alumni group to invite them to a get together, wherever we end up staying? As far as others staying with us, that would help reduce the cost for all of us (which I would stuff the ballot box for that reason alone), and it would make that decision easier for the ones who are coming to town anyway. Again, we could post the invite on the hsep-alumni, but mainly open the invite to the people who are flying in (then if there's room, others). Y'all tell me what you think. How about if we invite people out for a cookout on Saturday night, keep the invitation open for daytime visits and invite out-of-town people to stay over. Tony has committed to staying with us. That puts the number at five for certain. (You being the 5th, right Carry?) Maury will only be there Saturday, if she's still coming. So that's 6 for Saturday. Jay - If we don't get the place we want, can't we transfer the deposit to a place that's available that weekend. That way we'd be assured of a house. Also, I thought I'd go to Sam's here in Austin before I came down to get non-perishables, then, if I can get Friday off, I thought I'd go down early and get perishable stuff. That way, we'll just have food and drink at the house for those of us staying, and the beginnings for the cookout stuff. We'll work out transportation for everyone from airports, etc. when it gets closer. Carry - do you work that day? Write back asap, so we can get the info out there asap. I've also been talking with Tony and he's very much interested in at least
stopping by. I'm sure he'll pitch in for at least a day's fee.
He also mentioned wanting to pop in on other mini-reunions. That's why I'm
not sure if he'll commit to the whole weekend, but it would appear
favorable. Let's email him and see what he says. serna@lucent.com
I agree that this may not be entirely appropriate for my innocent
babies. But I would still love to bring them up for a little while,
just so they can meet all of you. Then I'll bring them back home to
their dad. I definitely want to spend more time with all of you, but I
understand if there's no room for me to stay over, since I'm one of the
in-towners. sob :-(
But, you can still count on me to contribute to the cost.
Jay, I haven't heard from anyone else that still lives in Houston.
Ya'll were my main friends in school and all of you live away from Houston
now.

I wasn't aware of other "mini-reunions", but maybe when I post to the hsep-alumni site, we'll all fold into one great big mini-reunion! Ha! :o) Still can't wait. Hello everyone! Monica here. Hope everyone is well and happy. A few of us are putting together an informal get together the weekend of Aug. 3,4,5. We plan on renting a house down at the beach in Galveston and having an "open-house" during the day where people can come and go as they please. Children are welcome during the day, but we would have to exclude them from any evening get-togethers. Keep in mind, the individuals staying at the beach house are going to be there without their spouses and/or children. THEN, we thought we'd extend an invitation to all the '81 graduates for a cookout at the house on Saturday night. We are still in planning stages, and will need a definite head count for the cookout by Friday, July 29th. If you know of hsep'ers who are not on line, please extend the invitation to them as well. We would obviously need a small contribution for the food, and suggest bringing your beverages of choice. Further, we'd like to extend an invitation to those of you who are coming in from out of town to stay at the beach house, room permitting, of course. We would all share the cost, and currently, we have (I think) five committed for Friday night and six committed for Saturday. The smallest places we've found have slept 8 and some have gone up to 20. The deadline for an rsvp on this part of the invite is July 25. Please let us know as soon as possible by posting to this message board. Hope we see you in two weeks! should start going through their old photo albums ( or finding them as in my
